Membership Categories

Regular Membership
Membership in the Society may be granted to any person active in fields relating to the actions of chemicals on biological systems, who has conducted researches and who has published meritorious papers in scientific journals or who has adequate experience in investigation, teaching or other forms of scholarship in these fields.

Associate Membership
Young investigators in pharmacology or related disciplines who have not satisfied the requirements for ordinary membership (e.g. postdoctoral fellows) shall be eligible for election as Associate Members. The same privileges shall be open to visiting scientists. Tenure as Associate Membership ordinarily shall not exceed five years but may be renewed upon application. Should an Associate Member wish to be considered for ordinary membership, a separate application is required.

Student Membership
Graduate students in pharmacology or related disciplines shall be eligible for election as Student Members. Tenure as a Student Member ordinarily shall not exceed five years.

Emeritus Membership
Any person, who subscribes to the objects of the Society, with a history of contributions to pharmacology or a related field and has retired from active employment because of age or illness, is eligible for Emeritus Membership upon approval by the Board.
